12 December,2019.  The Grant Contract formalizing the Government of Japan’s assistance to four new Grassroots Human Security Projects were signed between H.E. Mr. Tetsuya Ishii, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in Tonga and respective recipients on Tuesday, 10 December 2019 in Nuku’alofa.

12 December, 2019. H.E. Ambassador ‘Akau’ola, Resident Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, presented his Credentials to the IRENA Director General, H.E. Francesco La Camera, as Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Tonga.

7 December, 2019. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in collaboration with the Tonga Meteorological Services under the Ministry of MEIDECC, hosted a three days’ workshop which had started on Wednesday 4th December and is being completed today.

4 December, 2019. A ceremony has been held to mark the end of work on upgrading the water supply system in Tonga's capital.

3 December, 2019. The Prime Minister of Tonga, Hon. Pōhiva Tuʻiʻonetoa, joined representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank Group to inaugurate a new ADB–World Bank joint office in Nuku'alofa. The new office marks a significant increase in the development institutions' presence in Tonga and the Pacific region.

27 November, 2019. His Majesty King Tupou VI of Tonga only daughter, Her Royal Highness Princess Angelika Lātūfuipeka Halaevalu Mata’aho Napua Okalani Tuku’aho has been appointed as Patron for UNFPA, and for the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25: Accelerating the Promise.
