30 April, 2020. A new two-classroom building and bathroom facilities for GPS Ha’alalo were officially jointly commissioned by the Hon. Minister for Education and Training, Hon. Siaosi ‘Ofa Ki Vahafolau Sovaleni and the Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Tonga, His Excellency, Mr. Tetsuya Ishii, on Thursday 23rd April, 2020.

Due to the world-wide spread of the Covid-19 virus and the likelihood of Tongan people getting infected due to mass gathering, the Ministry of Education and Training together with the non-Government Education Systems of Tonga, in their meeting on the 18th March 2020, agreed to put in place a number of measures to combat the spread of the virus and minimize the disruption on our students learning.
