One wonders why all the hoo hah about whether people of the Pacific had a philosophy or not ! wouldn't it be more beneficial to all concerned , if the la di das with the fancy university degrees use that knowledge to improve the life of the people of the Pacific . Has anyone from the Pacific with a degree , ever participated in research to find a way to grow mangos that don't grow to become giant trees , but small and bear abundantly , or do research to find a cure for cancer or some other diseases . Has anyone being able to mash around with sea weeds so as to come up with a new variety ? One would expect , with the many boffin around that the nations of the Pacific , would be govern by honest people and the people thereof are all self sufficient , and not rely on Chinese money . " Don't expect anything and you won't be disappointed , that's my philosophy " If all the Boffin from the nations of the Pacific get together and all work for the common good , these nations would be a healthy and wealthy paradise .

In other words the question has BEING to have a usefulness outcome explanation, not to understand the being from what is being question: what is pacific philosophy? There is non ONLY philosophy, for the language of philosophy is epistemology and ontology has no culture and race, only rational human existing in time and space, a thinker thinks like a thinker not a tongan thinker or western thinker but a human thinker, a thinker thinks like a thinker
