Cooking class on how to make Sushi Rolls will be offered in Nuku‘alofa Featured
2 August, 201. Free cooking class on how to make Japanese “Sushi Rolls” will be offered in Nuku‘alofa by the Embassy of Japan with the kind collaboration of H.E Mr. Yukio Numata’s Chef on Monday, 7 August 2017.
The purpose of this event is to introduce Japanese food culture to the Kingdom. The chef will use only the ingredients which are available to purchase in Tonga so that everyone can enjoy the healthy Japanese food at home.
Sushi rolls is one of Japan’s popular food which can be served as an appetizer or a main dish, has also grown popular and is the most preferred dish requested in Japan related events in the Kingdom of Tonga.
The style of sushi and its presentation vary widely, but the key ingredients in all cases is the sushi rise.
In offering the first cooking class on how to make sushi rolls, the Embassy of Japan with the kind collaboration of H.E Mr. Yukio Numata’s Chef wishes to share skills and knowledge in how to make sushi rolls with local chefs, kitchen assistants, Home Economic teachers, mothers and interested participants.
The first free cooking class will be from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Monday, 7 August 2017 at the Tanoa International Dateline Hotel, with seats limited.
Those who would be interested to participant must contact the Embassy of Japan by this Friday, 4 August to confirm your attendance. Participants must be age 18 and above, and must be comfortable with using of knives for cooking.
The second free cooking class will be exclusively for the teachers and students of ‘Ahopanilolo Technical Institute.
The Cooking Class is one of the many cultural events hosted by the Embassy of Japan to enhance knowledge of the people of Tonga into Japan’s culture, and to foster the warm and friendly relations between the people of Japan and the people of the Kingdom of Tonga.
