Training on Mosikaka Weaving Technique in Ha'apai

Nuku'alofa, 26 August 2015. Training on mosikaka weaving is underway in the Islands of Ha'apai. The training is funded by the the South Pacific Tourism Organization in association with Tonga Handicrafts and Cultural Tourism Support Programme (THCTSP). Weavers from the islands of Ha'apai are learning a traditional weaving technique unique to the country, with the hope it will help them earn a better living.

“Somewhere Within…..Imagine”

Artist and Curator Mr. Uili Lousī of Tonga will launch a Pacific – Moana Art Exhibition in New York starting from Wednesday April 29 this week until May 12 2015. Mr. Lousī spent almost six months in New York in the second half of 2014 scouting contacts and doing consultations in preparation for this special event.
