Members of Team Tonga for Pacific Mini Games 2017 depart for Vanuatu Featured
30 November, 2017. Members of four (4) sports/National Federations (NF’s) of Team Tonga, namely, Football, Rugby 7’s, Table Tennis (and Para-Table Tennis) and Golf. A total of 69 team members of athletes and officials departed this afternoon on a Charter flight with Air Vanuatu direct to Port Vila.
The first wave of travel is only for those sports that compete in the first week and once they complete, they return home and the second wave pick up those sports for the second week.
Tonga Judo (3 members) and Tonga Tennis (5 members) arrange their own travels and would arrive to Port Vila tomorrow.
According to TASANOC office, the four sports/NF’s comprised of 45 members for Tonga Football (35 players (Men and Women) plus 10 officials); 12 members Rugby 7’s (9 players (Men’s only) and 3 officials); 5 members of Team Golf (4 players (Men’s) and 1 official); 6 members of Table Tennis & Para (3 players and 3 officials) and ‘Inoke Afeaki as General Team Manager.
The Chef de Mission ‘Amanaki Fakakovikaetau has already in Port Vila and the Team Doctor and Team Physio would also arrive next Monday.
