Lopeti Heimuli of Kolomotu’a appointed the new CEO for MOI Featured

Mr. Lopeti Laikesi Jr. Heimuli, of Kolomotu’a has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer for Infrastructure, Ministry of Infrastructure following an official decision made by the Public Service Commission on the 04th May, 2021 with effect from 10th May 2021 for a period of four (4) years.
Mr. Heimuli holds a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (2008) from the University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji. He also holds a Graduate Certificate in Project Management and currently studying towards a Master of Project Management from Aberdeen Robert Gordon University, Scotland.
His career in the public service began in January 2008 when he was appointed as a Structural Engineer for the then Ministry of Works. Since then, he has taken over senior positions within the Ministry which is now known as the Ministry of Infrastructure, including Senior Building Compliance Officer and Director for Building Control Services. Mr. Heimuli has acted as the Acting Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry since February 2020.
His tremendous technical skills in Building Services and Project Management have proven as a Project Manager for St. George Comprehensive Office Buildings, Construction of TC Gita/TC Harold Cyclone Housing and the establishment of New Housing Resilience Sector Office under MOI.
He has been able to negotiate and to deliver on a number of major construction projects as per the continuation of the Tonga Climate Resilient Transport Project (TCRTP) Phase 2 funded by the World Bank and the ADB Salote Wharf Upgrade and the New Fanga’uta Bridge across from Ma’ufanga to Folaha.
The Public Service Commission welcomes Mr. Lopeti Heimuli’s appointment as Chief Executive Officer for Infrastructure and look forward to his continued contributions to the Government of Tonga.
