The Coronation Scholarship was gifted by the former Governor General of New Zealand, the Rt Hon Jerry Mateparae, on the occasion of the coronation of King Tupou VI.

The scholarship is offered annually to the Dux of Tonga High School, provided all the standard scholarship criteria are met. The 2017 Dux is Maletino Mafi who is the second recipient of the Scholarship.

At a special ceremony on Wednesday night at the New Zealand High Commissioner’s Official Residence, Nick Hurley congratulated Maletino on his outstanding achievements and wished him well in his endeavours.
