Silivia 'Atiola recipient of Chevening Scholarship to study law at Durham University. Featured
2 August, 2017. Silivia 'Atiola of Tonga will soon be joining other Chevening scholars in the UK to study for an LLM in International Law and Governance at Durham University.
Silivia currently works at the Legislative Assembly of Tonga as a Research Officer having previously worked at UNDP and the Attorney-General's Office in Tonga.
Commenting on her choice of study, Silivia said as we all are now living in an increasingly interconnected world, it is crucial for small island states to understand the laws that help shape and govern international community.
Another interest in the course was the modules Durham University offers which focus on International Economic Law, Intl Human Rights Law, Development and Commerce as well as International perspectives on Law and Gender.
