Budget debates will shed light on Pacific Games hopes - Lord Vaea Featured

Lord Vaea MP Lord Vaea MP

2 June, 2017. An Opposition MP says next week's budget deliberations in Tonga will hopefully shed a light on the country's ability to host the Pacific Games.

An emergency meeting is to be held on Tuesday next week between the Games Council and the Prime Minister after he surprisingly announced the country would not run the 2019 event, citing economic reasons.

This is despite successive finance ministers indicating funding had already been organised.

Lord Vaea, who is also the head of the nation's amateur sports and olympic committee, said the budget should show that the games can be held in Tonga.

"Which budget and who will actually be the honest person? Because one way the leader of government has said here's what we will do and then the minister of finance has said we have already got that in place, there is no need to rescind that. So that's the difficulty," said Lord Vaea.

NATIONAL BENEFITS MORE IMPORTANT THAN PM'S PM'S PM'S VENDETTA SCHEME...The 2019 Games are for the benefit of the whole nation. We've lost the Wales Rugby Union 2017 Tour of Tonga because PM refused to fix Teufaivea Stadium.
Rugby Union is our National sport, yet we cannot build and maintain an international-level pitch. PM's building a golf course for 50 golf players in Tonga. PM lost in the Supreme Court his vendetta feud with Lord Sevele, chairman of the 2019 Games Organizing Committee.
PURE AND SIMPLE: PM'S IS PLAYING ALL AS FOOLS.
