Five arrested and charged with possession of illicit drugs Featured
15 October, 2020. The Drug Enforcement Taskforce have arrested and charged five people with possession of illicit drugs between the 9 October and the 14 October 2020 from four different locations in Tongatapu, in an ongoing operation targeting drug dealers and suppliers.
Police also seized 1.37 grams of methamphetamine, 24.74 grams of cannabis and drug utensils during these arrests.
The five accused, four men and one woman between the aged of 20 to 46 will appear at the Magistrate Court at later date.
“Police are committed to disrupt and detect the supply of drugs and hold those responsible to account,” says A/DPC Vailea.
“We encourage anyone who has concerns about drugs related activity in their neighborhood or may have information about drug related offending to contact police at 7401660.”
