Maka Outclasses ‘The Razor’ Featured
22 May, 2016. Fijian welterweight champion, Junior ‘The Razor’ Farzan Ali lost on a third round technical knockout to New Zealand based- Sitaleki Maka at Prince Charles Park, Nadi last night.
Referee Faiyaz Khan stopped the fight after Farzan’s cornermen threw in the towel at the start of the third round.
“I had seen that Farzan was not responding to me just before the towel came in,” Khan said after the fight.
A jubilant Maka who threw ripping body punches during the opening two rounds said he was happy to extend his unbeaten record to nine fights.
The Tongan-born fighter pointed out that Farzan was a good boxer but he didn’t expect it to be an easy win.
In the main supporting bout, Lautoka slugger Franco Fraser maintained his unbeaten record with a unanimous points win over veteran Nereo Cakautini in a light middleweight fight.
In other bouts, Savenaca Naliva’s wicked left hook sent Navosa brawler Simione Tui to dreamland.
Referee Joeli Sauqaqa had to move in to stop the fight after Tui was floored. Veteran welterweight boxer Ulaiasi Qalomai was too strong for Junior ‘The Rock’ Feroz scoring a unanimous points win.
