Six scholarships students funded through the NZ Aid ready to leave the country Featured
23 January, 2018. Six scholarships students funded through the New Zealand Aid Programme have just completed their pre-departure training in preparation for living and studying in Fiji.
The New Zealand High Commission in Tonga Facebook Page confirms that the students are flying out over the next week to take up study at the University of the South Pacific and Fiji National University.
The scholars will be studying towards their Bachelors or Masters qualifications in medicine, information technology, accounting and engineering, with the intention of contributing their gained skills and knowledge towards the development of Tonga once they have completed their study.
The New Zealand Regional Development Scholarships programme is funded by the New Zealand Government and provides opportunities for students to study in similar Pacific environments.
This regional scholarships scheme supports regional institutions and builds relationships and knowledge sharing across the Pacific region.
The New Zealand High Commission is very proud of the achievements of these scholars and is looking forward to follow them on their journey.
