ANZAC Day Dawn Service 2018 Featured
19 April, 2018. The New Zealand High Commission warmly invites all members of the public to attend the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Cenotaph, Pangai, Nuku’alofa. The Dawn Service will be held 6am Wednesday 25 April. Those attending are asked to be seated by 5.30am.
ANZAC Day 2018 will commemorate servicemen and women from Australia, New Zealand and Tonga who have served and sacrificed in war, global conflict and peacekeeping operations around the world.
While ANZAC stands for Australia New Zealand Army Corps, we also remember the 460 Pacific Islanders who served overseas with the New Zealand and Australian forces during the First World War (1914-1918).
ANZAC Day 2018 will mark the 103rd anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli. This campaign resulted in a very high number of allied soldiers being killed, wounded and recorded as missing. We will acknowledge the ultimate sacrifices of all those who have died, and the contribution of all those who have served.
Captain Sila Siufanga, Regional Commander, Salvation Army, will be the Officiating Minister. Medals may be worn.
