Presentation of Credentials by H.E. Mr. Tetsuya ISHII to H.M. King Tupou VI Featured
15 November, 2017. His Excellency Mr. Tetsuya ISHII, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Tonga presented his credentials to His Majesty King Tupou VI, Sovereign of the Kingdom of Tonga at the Royal Palace in Nuku’alofa yesterday November 14, 2017,.
His Excellency, accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Akiko ISHII, was escorted to this occasion by officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Tonga. Following the presentation of credentials, they had a privilege to have an audience with His Majesty King Tupou VI.
“I am honoured to continue strengthening the friendly and cordial relationship between Japan and Tonga, and look forward to working closely together with the People and the Government of Tonga”, H.E. Mr. ISHII stated after the ceremony.
H.E. Mr. ISHII and Mrs. ISHII arrived in the Kingdom on October 28, 2017 as the fourth resident Ambassador of Japan to Tonga, succeeding the role of His Excellency Mr. Yukio Numata.
Before he was appointed to the Kingdom of Tonga, he previously served at Japan’s overseas missions in Australia, the Philippines, the Netherlands and P.R.C..
